Yonex has announced the highly anticipated eighth generation of its popular Ezone tennis racket, set to debut in 2025. Known for its power-friendly performance, the new model introduces significant engineering enhancements, promising to deliver even greater precision and playability for athletes at all levels.
The Japanese brand has revealed that the latest Ezone boasts the largest sweet spot in the lineup’s history. Building on the isometric head shape that already offers a 7% larger sweet spot compared to traditional racket designs, Yonex engineers have now expanded it by an additional 1%. This has been achieved by elongating the frame’s top length, a strategic design tweak aimed at delivering more power while minimizing the risk of mishits.
Key changes to the racket’s structure have further refined its performance. By widening the beam width at the top of the frame, Yonex claims a 4.8% increase in power and responsiveness compared to the previous model. Additionally, the tapering within the inner frame has been extended to enhance flexibility upon ball impact, improving pocketing performance by 6%, ensuring players experience greater control and feel during rallies.
This evolution of the Ezone was developed with direct input from top players, including Ben Shelton and Casper Ruud, both of whom are known for using Yonex rackets on the professional circuit. Their insights helped shape the design, fine-tuning the frame to cater to the demands of modern tennis.
The eighth generation of the Yonex Ezone highlights the brand’s continued dedication to pushing the boundaries of tennis racket technology, offering players a blend of power, control, and responsiveness that takes their game to the next level. Fans can look forward to seeing the new model in action when it launches in 2025.
